Welcome to Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro

Visiting Balkans was always on my bucket list. Last summer I had a unique chance to visit Montenegro and to stay in Podgorica in one of the best hotels Hilton Podgorica Crna Gora. Podgorica is not a big capital city like Berlin, Brussels, Prague or Warsaw. This is a small city (almost 190.000 habitats) with a fantastic location in Montenegro. It is really close to the coast and main cities like Kotor or Budva and also an excellent place to visit Albania (only 20km from the border). I can recommend staying in Podgorica if you are not into very touristy cities and when you would like to be close to the seaside (Adriatic Sea) and at the same time to the mountain areas (Dinaric Alps).

IMG_0863.jpgThis famous Millenium Bridge is a landmark of Podgorica. Opened on July 13, 2005, during Montenegro’s National Day looks very beautiful and is located on Morača River. Millenium Bridge is situated in the heart of the city so you won’t miss it while visiting the city.

When you are flying to Podgorica, make sure you reserve a window seat. Why? Just look at these breathtaking views from the airplane. I took those pictures with my iPhone, so maybe they won’t show you in 100% the real beauty of this small and unique country.
