Meliá Expands in Dominican Republic with Two New INNSiDE Hotels

Meliá Hotels International is set to broaden its presence in the Dominican Republic with two new properties under its INNSiDE by Meliá brand. This move marks the company’s first franchise hotels in the Caribbean, furthering its regional expansion.

Operating 45 hotels across Europe, Asia, and America, the INNSiDE brand caters to contemporary travelers, offering affordable lifestyle experiences in urban and holiday destinations.

The upcoming hotels, INNSiDE Punta Cana Downtown and INNSiDE Punta Cana Bay, will be developed by Spain’s Vivantia Homes and will open in 2027. They are located near Punta Cana International Airport.

INNSiDE Punta Cana Downtown will feature 290 rooms and be located in the central core of Punta Cana. It will provide easy access to commercial zones, entertainment options, and residential projects in a secure, family-friendly environment. INNSiDE Punta Cana Bay, offering 186 rooms, will be set on Arena Gorda Beach, a popular spot for water sports known for its palm trees, lush vegetation, and turquoise blue waters.

Both hotels will offer various dining options, wellness areas, meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a gym, and a cinema. They will also feature healthy drink options, yoga sessions, bike tours, and creative meeting rooms. The brand aims to celebrate local culture by organizing events and showcasing the work of local artists.

Gabriel Escarrer, Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, said the company’s objective is to strengthen its leadership position in the Caribbean by providing a diverse hotel offering tailored for the new generation of travelers. He added that INNSiDE by Meliá would be an excellent addition to its existing portfolio in the Dominican Republic.

Meliá Hotels International operates in Punta Cana with its Meliá Hotels & Resorts and Paradisus brands and is set to open its first Zel hotel outside of Spain.
