Pumpkin Mushroom Soup

Begin your fall foodie adventure enjoying something unexpectedly amazing in Delaware! The Back Burner’s pumpkin mushroom soup is a crowd favorite any time of year, full of rich and creamy flavors. You’ll be amazed at the deep and subtle harmony of crimini mushrooms, roasted pumpkin, and crème fraîche.

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop

Wilmington/Newark/Bear/Middletown and more locations

The Bobbie

Now, if we are talking fall then we must talk about one of Capriotti’s best sellers – The Bobbie! It’s Thanksgiving on a bun and one of the most fall foods ever! It can be enjoyed at any time during the year, but the turkey, herb-filled stuffing, and sweet cranberry sauce seem to just taste better with a crisp fall breeze around.

Painted Stave Chai Cider

Chai is a “fall” star at the Painted Stave! Their Chai Boozy Milkshake has vodka, chai liqueur and cinnamon, while their Chai Cider mixes vodka with the lovely fall flavors of chai and apple cider! Cozy up by the fire on their outdoor patio for the ultimate autumn experience.

Helen’s Sausage House

Smyrna

Sausage and/or Scrapple

Moving down the state, you’ll find the perfect joint to satisfy all of your game-day needs this fall season. A breakfast platter from Helen’s Sausage House will have you fueled up and feeling the flavor all day. Make sure you plan to visit with enough time before kickoff, because there is usually a line for helpings of scrapple and sausage!

Fifer Orchards Farm Kitchen

Camden – Wyoming

Cider Shake Up

If you are looking to make a day out of your Fall Foodie Road Trip, then make Fifer Orchards your must-stop! Perhaps the most anticipated Fall Foodie feature is the “Cider Shake Up.” A festive combination of freshly picked apple cider, homemade vanilla ice cream topped with a famous apple cider donut. You’ll experience all the flavors of fall in your straw with this one.

T.S. Smith Orchard Point Market

Bridgeville

Apple Dumpling

To keep taking a ride on the sweeter side, turn your tracks south to T.S. Smith Orchard Point Market for an apple dumpling topped with fresh-from-the-farm vanilla ice cream and a caramel drizzle. The crunch of the crust breaking as you go for your first bite of appley, caramel goodness is simply a feeling worth driving for. And while you are there, you can pick your fall decor or take a few (dozen) dumplings home with you!

Egg

Rehoboth Beach

Pumpkin Pie Praline French Toast

Egg is a great breakfast spot located on Rehoboth Avenue. They have a decadent Pumpkin Pie Praline French Toast on their menu with Pumpkin custard and a pecan topping. And look for their fall-themed cocktails. We hope they bring back the Pumpkin Smashed made with knob creek maple bourbon, pumpkin-brown sugar syrup, half and half, orange bitters, nutmeg, with a pecan and cinnamon-brown sugar rim.
