Exodus Adventure Travels Launches ‘Wild at Heart’ Initiative

Exodus Adventure Travels, the international leader in small group guided tours, has launched ‘Wild at Heart,’ a major fundraising campaign as a part of its conservation mission of supporting communities to protect key species globally.

Building on the introduction of two new projects—saving endangered primates in Vietnam and supporting jaguar conservation in Costa Rica—the ‘Wild at Heart’ initiative is supported by the Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation. Funds raised will directly support conservation programs across many of Exodus’ key destinations, including existing efforts to safeguard tiger habitats in India, protect elephants in Kenya, and engage communities in bear preservation in Italy. Every trip is led by Exodus’ expert local guides, whose deep knowledge and on-the-ground connections ensure travelers experience each destination authentically while directly supporting local communities.

“Connecting adventurous travelers with incredible destinations is at the heart of what we do, and we’re committed to ensuring our adventures benefit local species, environments, and communities,” said Kasia Morgan, Head of Sustainability at Exodus Adventure Travels. “The ‘Wild at Heart’ campaign is the next chapter in this commitment, supporting thriving nature and thriving people. We’re inviting our travelers to join us in protecting the places they explore and the wildlife that makes those destinations unforgettable.”

To make supporting easy and impactful, 100% of donations go directly to projects on the ground. A contribution of just $6 could fund batteries for cameras monitoring the reintroduction of a jaguar prey species in Costa Rica, while $15 could provide a local Rewilding Ranger in Vietnam with essential gear.

For the first time, U.S. residents’ contributions to the Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation can be tax deductible by making their donation through the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), using this form here.

Specific Exodus conservation projects for this ‘Wild at Heart’ initiative include the Primate Survival Project in Vietnam and the Jaguar Resilience project in Costa Rica.

PRIMATE SURVIVAL PROJECT, VIETNAM

Vietnam’s forests are home to some of the world’s most endangered primates, including species found nowhere else on Earth, such as the Cao Vit Gibbon, Tonkin Snub-Nosed Monkey, and Delacour’s Langur.

In partnership with Fauna & Flora, the Primate Survival Project places local communities at the heart of the solution.

In its first year, the project will aim to train locals into rangers, carry out drone-based surveys to assess primate populations, train community members to track wildlife signs and habitat changes, and provide tailored training to conservation staff, boosting the impact of forest protection and biodiversity monitoring. Looking ahead, the project also plans to develop eco-tourism opportunities such as guided wildlife walks, forest treks, and conservation-focused village visits.

JAGUAR RESILIENCE PROJECT, COSTA RICA

In the Piedras Blancas region of Costa Rica, the White-Lipped Peccary – a vital prey animal – is vanishing, threatening the health of an entire ecosystem including the jaguars. Through the Jaguar Resilience Project, led by Osa Conservation, Exodus is supporting the reintroduction of the White-Lipped Peccary back into the wild with long-term monitoring to assess how the forest responds. The project will also work with local communities on sustainable tourism and environmental education and train local Rewilding Ambassadors to lead education programs and build sustainable livelihoods.
